Recreational Dance

This program is designed for dancers of all levels aged 2 years and up to realize the benefits of dance in a casual, creative and non-competitive environment.

Recreational Dance

This program offers a wide variety of classes: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Contemporary. All recreational students participate in a year-end Recital. Recreational classes are geared towards fun, fitness and creativity. It’s never too late to learn to dance!

Competitive Dance

This is a program for students who enjoy and thrive in a competitive environment and have a passion for dance.

Competitive Dance

Students have a chance to be part of the exciting competitive world of dance and are exposed to different styles and choreographers. Our Competitive Program provides students with well rounded dance training. Students get to compete at 4 competitions as well as perform at their own showcases and be featured in our annual year-end recital show.

A fun way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Creative movement uses body actions to communicate an image, an idea or  a feeling. Basic ballet and jazz technique is incorporated into play. Child appropriate music is used to demonstrate different moods and rhythms.

A classical form of dance. In this class students learn proper ballet terminology and focuses on discipline, musicality and grace. Ballet for recreational level reinforces the basic concepts of Ballet and is composed of  barre and center floor exercises. More complex combinations are given as students progress. Classical ballet music is used in class.

Jazz class consists of a warm up, focused on developing technique and strength, traveling diagonal combinations and a centre combination. Exercises and combinations will progress over the season. Fun pop and children’s music is used during class.

A type of dance in which the rhythm is kept by the noise of the dancer’s shoes on the floor. Dancers must wear special tap shoes in this class. Different combinations are given with increased difficulty. This helps students develop a sense of rhythm and musicality as well as coordination. A variety of music is used in this class.

Acro dance combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. At a recreational level we focus on building strength and flexibility. Sometimes music is used in this class. Gym mats are used for safety while learning.

A wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping. It’s fun and up beat. The class consists of a warm up and a fun dance combination to popular child appropriate Hip Hop or Pop music. A dance that draws on both classical ballet and modern dance, this class explores total body movement, use of breath and weight and changes in rhythm, speed and direction. The class consists of a warm up, accross the floor/centre floor technique and a dance combination. A variaty of music is used that is expressive in nature.
